Rusty Jones

Well-known jazz drummer moved to Chicago in 1967. He played with Judy Roberts (1968-1972), George Shearing (1978-1978), and extensively on and off with Marian McPartland, Adam Makowicz, Larry Novak, Patricia Barber, Frank Portolese, Buddy DeFranco and many of the other notables of the jazz scene both local and international. He has recorded and traveled extensively in both the United States and Europe and is currently active on the Chicago Jazz scene. He is also the great nephew of the song leader- band leader of the 1920's and the 1930's, Isham Jones.

Tot has performed and/or recorded with Johnny Frigo (violin, Chicago), Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (double bass, Denmark), Billy Harper (tenor sax, New York), Reggie Workman (double bass, New York), Peter King (alto & soprano sax, Great Britain), Larry Novak (piano, Chicago), Marshall Vente (piano, Chicago), Mark Colby (tenor saxophone, Chicago), Greg Fishman (tenor sax, Chicago), Deborah Carter (vocal, USA-Holland), Paul Weeden (guitar, USA-Norway), John Engels (drums, Holland), and many others.
